Target Weight Acquired – A New Goal Set

When I set out on my journey to become healthier back on September 2, 2014 I set my goal weight of being 200 lbs. Once reached I would then adjust and set new goals accordingly. It has happened! On April 22, 2016 I reached my goal weight of 200 lbs.! Actually, I ended up being below my goal weight weighing in at 199.00 lbs.

199weightThe day I reached my goal weight was a full day of celebration as it was a day I already had scheduled to take a vacation day from work. To celebrate I went on a 23 mile bike ride. Since I was going in the middle of the day I use sunscreen to prevent getting a sunburn as I go riding for 2 or more hours. I’ve learned my lesson when I first started out walking even for an hour… I used up the last of the sunscreen so after my bike ride I went to the store to buy some more. While at the store one of the workers was working in the section I was so I asked her which one is the best one to use? She told me her answer (any of them, they all work!) then we processed to talk about why I use sunscreen then I told her I had lost 221 lbs. then showed her my picture of what I looked like back in October 2013. She was so very proud of me and had to give me a great big hug.

Later that evening I had the pleasure of going to a wonderful performance by Millennial Choirs & Orchestras ‘Amazing Grace – Songs of Atonement & Freedom‘ which was amazing beautiful and heavenly! Jenny Oaks Baker performed that night and afterwards was in the lobby meeting people. I went up and met her and even got my picture taken with her! This is something I normally wouldn’t do had I never started out on my journey to become healthier mentally and physically! Also after the performance I socialized with others, again, something I normally wouldn’t do.

So much has changed for the better since September 2, 2014! I am in a much better place than I’ve ever been in physically, mentally and spiritually! I am realizing all that has been accomplished.

pants-smallimageNow that my goal has been reach I am now wearing size 38 pants, down from wearing a 64 inch size waist 3 years ago. When I started on my journey I was wearing size 60 with an elastic waistband. I am now half the person I was starting back on September 2, 2014.

I’ve accomplished so very much. This is all still processing in my mind! I do know I couldn’t have done this by myself! I have and still have help from every one of you and even heavenly help! So I thank you for all!

What is next now my big main goal has been reached? I already started another challenge “Spring Into Action Health Games Challenge – Lose 6% in 6 weeks or Maintain within -5.99% to 1%” back on April 11, 2016 which goes till May 22, 2016. My goal is to lose 6% of my body weight from the time I started April 11. When I first started this goal I was already doubting this couldn’t be done as I’ve already lost a ton of weight and it has been slowing going down the last few weeks. It was a few days into the challenge when I saw what was going on! I was already setting myself up for failure. Right then and there I changed my mindset to recommitted myself that I would be positive going forward that I can and will accomplish this goal! As soon as I did this I started seeing results where my weight started decreasing. I am always learning and will continue to learn as time goes on. I am not perfect as I still need to keep my mind in check. I was able to see what started happening going into this challenge with a few of my family members but as soon as I realized this I made the commitment right then I would start.

When you put your mind to it anything can be accomplished! It will not happen overnight; it will take time. Set your goal then make smaller goals which will keep you moving toward the main goal. Take small steps! All those small steps will add up over time. Don’t get discourage but keep moving forward. If you run into a road block as soon as you realize this start moving forward that minute.

Now I’ve reached my big main goal and am already working on my new goal I do plan on keeping this life style meaning I will continue to live a healthy life. No fast food, No Chocolate (even dark chocolate), No Junk Food, No Sugar, etc.

Again, thank you ALL for your help, words of encouragement, for being there for me and for being you!

Love you all!

    1. Thank you Mary! Every minute is a new minute! One step at a time! Build up your community for the strength needed to keep moving forward. One stick is quite easy to break – but if you put hundreds of sticks together, they now become strong… Reach out to people when it gets hard. Clear the mind! Do not listen to that voice telling you it is ‘impossible’ because it is Possible!
