Shattering My Own Personal Prison

It has been some time since I’ve written so I would like to update you as to where I stand in this journey of mine.

It’s been 2 years, 6 months and 25 days since I started my journey to become healthier! The last 3 months my weight has been maintaining between 165 – 173 pounds (with the exception of getting sick in February where I dropped my weight down to 160 pounds and then it took me weeks to get it back up to 165 were I’ve been the last month). My journey continues on as I move forward building strength daily!

The tailors tape measure usually is 60 inches long, it was about a year before starting my journey when I measured just how large I was after weighing in and being over 400 pounds, I could not fit the tape measure all the way around waist! 65 inches it come out being! Today, this same tailors tape measure can now be wrapped around my waist two times – well okay, I do need to pull it tight to get it around twice but I can do it! To think I once wore size 64 pants, but now I wear size 32. As I look at the pants I put on to wear these days, it is hard for me to fathom they actually fit me… they look so small with what I use too looked upon over a decade.

Life keeps me busy but I continue clearing my mind of my past beliefs about myself and the prison I built in my mind about who I was or was not! I continue to shatter these prison walls and go outside my comfort zone as best I can. There are times my minds starts to tell me, “You’re not good enough! You’re not smart enough! You really think/believe they would like talking to you?” plus more. When I become aware of this going on I thank the old me for telling me these things and go forth marching on with what I set out to do, to become!

I am so very thankful for all of you and especially all the new people I’ve met and continue to meet these last few months as I go outside of my comfort zone doing new things with others. Making new friends and being the ‘real’ me is amazing!

I would challenge you to go do something you’ve been afraid of doing! Don’t think about, just go do it! Afterwards write in your journey what you were feeling before vs. afterwards. It doesn’t matter what happens, all that matters is ‘You Did It’! The only one who should be judging you is God – not people or ourselves… I love you all!
